Cheesy Biscuits

25 grams butter, chilled and diced

125 grams Cheddar or Edam cheese, grated

125 grams flour

1 teaspoon curry powder, optional

toppings: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, finely chopped nuts of your choice





  1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC. Line 1-2 trays with baking paper.

  2. Put the butter, cheese, flour and curry powder, if using, into a food processor and process until the mixture forms a stiff ball of dough.

  3. Turn out onto a lightly floured bench and roll the dough out to ½cm thickness.

  4. Cut into 4-5cm rounds or your preferred shapes.

  5. Place on the prepared trays and sprinkle with one of the selected toppings.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden and crisp.

  7. Cool 1 minute before transferring carefully onto a cake rack to cool completely.

  8. Store in an airtight container. Freeze when cold, if wished.
